• North Vancouver RCMP confirmed on July 8 that the device was homemade and unsophisticated, likely built from fireworks or bear bangers taped together and ignited by a fuse.
• Investigators released surveillance photos of two male persons of interest—one outfitted with a long blond wig and dark hoodie—and appealed for tips to locate them.
• Police believe the individuals were also behind two earlier small blasts and the destruction of a street sign in the area before the main explosion.
