RCMP Say Speed a Factor in Shawnigan Lake Crash That Killed 15-Year-Old Rollerblader

Police urge witnesses to come forward during the early evidence-gathering phase.

  • The car hit the family group before crashing into a telephone pole, according to Shawnigan Lake RCMP.
  • The 17-year-old driver and 17-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
  • BC RCMP say alcohol is not suspected and identify speed as an important factor in the collision.
