RCMP Say Items Found in Volunteer Search for Missing Nova Scotia Siblings Are Not Relevant

Accredited cadaver dogs will return this week during the ongoing missing-persons probe.

Overview

  • About 30 volunteers led by Ontario nonprofit Please Bring Me Home searched Middle River waterways in Lansdowne on Saturday in a final push before winter.
  • Searchers located a child's black T-shirt, a blue blanket, a child's bicycle, a geocache log bearing the stepfather's name, and bones later assessed as animal.
  • RCMP said the recovered materials hold no relevance to the disappearance of Lilly, 6, and Jack, 5, who were reported missing on May 2.
  • Please Bring Me Home will submit a report to RCMP with photos and GPS coordinates of all finds, and cadaver dogs trained to detect human remains are slated to return this week.
  • Investigators continue the missing-persons investigation with follow-up from forensic testing, more than 860 tips and 8,060 video files, as some volunteers reported access disputes with property owners along the river.
