RCMP Probe Alleged $500,000 Tip Diversion at Kamloops Denny’s After Civil Suit

  • Northland Properties filed a B.C. Supreme Court claim on Dec. 16 accusing three former employees of misappropriating more than $500,000 in electronic tips between 2023 and 2025.
  • An internal audit cited in the suit found more than $11,000 was transferred to one defendant’s account between Nov. 10 and Dec. 1, 2025.
  • The claim says a former manager who resigned on Nov. 3, 2025 may have removed about $494,533 over two years.
  • The lawsuit describes use of the Tips Today platform and alleges the former manager requested one-time verification codes from a server on Nov. 3 and Nov. 8 to access the system.
  • Kamloops RCMP confirm the file is under active investigation, and the allegations have not been proven in court with no responses yet filed by the defendants.
