Overview

• Twillingate RCMP began an inquiry around 7:15 a.m. on Sept. 11 after debris was reported near the causeway.
• Divers from the RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador Underwater Recovery Team found the vehicle that evening and it was lifted out by a local crane operator.
• A 43-year-old woman was discovered deceased inside the recovered vehicle, according to RCMP.
• The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and an RCMP traffic collision analyst are engaged as the investigation continues.
