RCMP Dive Teams Begin Underwater Recovery in Search for Missing TRU Student

  • Search efforts since Sunday have involved more than a dozen crews including Kamloops Search and Rescue, Vernon SAR and Hummingbird Drones
  • Authorities confirmed the missing person is a man in his 20s studying at Thompson Rivers University and have notified his family overseas
  • The student disappeared around 5:15 p.m. Sunday after entering the Thompson River at Overlander Park to retrieve a volleyball and becoming caught in a strong undercurrent
  • Police are urging anyone with information or who spots items along riverbanks to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000
