RCMP Charge Three Men in 2020 Killing of Manitoba Mother After Years-Long Probe

The breakthrough followed an extensive RCMP investigation built on more than 150 interviews with support from the Tootinaowaziibeeng community.

Overview

  • Kirk Kenneth Allarie, 42, Myles Malcolm Allarie, 38, and Billy Jay Lynxleg, 46, are charged with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains and remain in custody awaiting court dates.
  • Melinda Lynxleg, a 40-year-old mother of six from Tootinaowaziibeeng (Valley River) First Nation, was reported missing in April 2020 and her remains were found in June 2023.
  • Her body was discovered on an abandoned property in San Clara that investigators say has historical ties to at least one of the accused.
  • Police say the victim knew all three men, and RCMP confirm Billy Jay Lynxleg is a close relative; investigators also allege the body was moved.
  • RCMP say the case drew personnel from multiple detachments, involved more than 60 officers and thousands of hours of work, and remains active with further interviews expected.
