Overview
- Banks in Agartala, Kolkata and Guwahati are closed today, Monday, Sept. 29, for Maha Saptami under the RBI holiday list.
- On Sept. 30, branches will be shut in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi for Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami.
- On Oct. 1, a wider set of cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Gangtok, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Lucknow, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram will close for Maha Navami/Dussehra/Durga Puja as scheduled by the RBI.
- Oct. 2 is a nationwide bank holiday for Gandhi Jayanti, with closures across all states alongside local observances such as Vijaya Dashami and the Janmotsav of Sri Sri Sankardeva.
- Digital banking, UPI and ATMs are expected to function, but branch-dependent services may face delays, and October features 21 city-specific non-working days including Diwali (Oct. 20–22) and Chhath Puja (Oct. 27–28).
