Overview
- Banks are closed in West Bengal on January 12 for Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, and some local reports note closures in Kanpur and Lucknow.
- For Lohri on January 13, banks close in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, while most other regions operate normally.
- On January 14, branches shut in Gujarat, Odisha, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh for Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu.
- January 15–17 bring regional closures for Uttarayana Punyakala, Pongal, Thiruvalluvar Day/Kanuma and Uzhavar Thirunal across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, with Tamil Nadu closed on all three dates.
- ATMs, UPI and online banking continue without interruption, but cheque clearances and other in-branch services wait until the next working day, with regular weekly offs also applying.
