Overview

  • September’s total combines weekly offs with regional festivals as listed in the Reserve Bank of India’s official holiday schedule.
  • All scheduled and non-scheduled banks will close on Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays under RBI rules.
  • Key dates include Sept. 3 (Karma Puja, Jharkhand), Sept. 4 (Onam, Kerala), Sept. 5 (Eid‑e‑Milad across multiple states), and Sept. 29–30 (Durga Puja in several eastern states).
  • In-person services such as deposits, passbook updates, cheque clearing and locker access will not be available on the listed holidays.
  • ATMs, UPI, mobile and internet banking will function as usual, and customers are advised to verify local branch schedules and plan time‑sensitive work in advance.
