RBB Program Director Katrin Günther and Chief Editor David Biesinger have resigned due to their roles in the misreporting scandal.
The reporting errors centered on fabricated allegations of misconduct against Green Party politician Stefan Gelbhaar, some of which were based on a false affidavit from an individual using a fake identity.
Gelbhaar had previously withdrawn from his party's candidate list and lost his direct candidacy for Berlin-Pankow but is now pursuing legal action to clear his name.
RBB has announced structural reforms, including mandatory training on investigative reporting and stricter oversight of sensitive stories by its editorial leadership.
Interim leadership appointments include Stephanie Pieper as acting chief editor, while Günther will temporarily remain in her role until a successor is chosen.
