R&B Singer Angela Bofill Dies at 70

The trailblazing artist, known for hits like 'I Try' and 'This Time I'll Be Sweeter,' passed away at her daughter's home in California.

Angela Bofill was one of the first Latina singers to achieve success in the R&B and jazz genres.
She released 10 studio albums and collaborated with notable artists such as Diana Ross and Clive Davis.
Bofill suffered two strokes in the mid-2000s, impacting her ability to perform but inspiring her return to the stage in later years.
She was inducted into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2023.
Her funeral will be held on June 28 at St. Dominic's Church in Vallejo, California.
