RB Leipzig Signs Ridle Baku from Wolfsburg in €4.5M Transfer

The 26-year-old defender joins Leipzig on a contract through 2027 to replace injured Benjamin Henrichs.

Ridle Baku, a four-time German international, has transferred from VfL Wolfsburg to RB Leipzig for a reported fee of €4.5 million.
Baku signed a contract with Leipzig until June 2027 and will fill the right-back position left vacant by Benjamin Henrichs, who is out for the season with an Achilles injury.
Leipzig coach Marco Rose praised Baku's dynamism, speed, and versatility but noted he is not yet a candidate for the starting lineup due to limited training sessions.
Negotiations initially stalled over Wolfsburg's dissatisfaction with Leipzig's opening offer, but a breakthrough was reached on Thursday, prompting Baku to leave Wolfsburg's training camp in Portugal for Leipzig.
RB Leipzig is also nearing the acquisition of Noah Okafor from AC Milan on loan, with the forward expected to compete for a role in the attack.
