Razer Pushes Into AI Hardware at CES 2026 With Project Motoko Headset Concept and Project Ava Hologram

The company is moving its AI companions into physical devices, opening U.S. reservations for Ava this year as Motoko remains an experiment without a launch date.

Overview

  • Project Motoko is a Snapdragon-powered concept headset with dual eye-level cameras for real-time object and text recognition and a microphone array tuned for both near and distant audio.
  • Razer says Motoko can work with major AI models, including ChatGPT from OpenAI, Google’s Gemini, Perplexity, and xAI’s Grok, but it has no release date or pricing.
  • Project Ava is a 5.5-inch holographic desktop companion featuring animated avatars, eye-tracking via an HD camera, far-field microphones, and coaching for gaming, productivity, and daily tasks.
  • Ava currently runs demonstrations on xAI’s Grok and is planned to support other leading AI platforms, requiring a USB-C connection to a Windows PC.
  • Razer targets the second half of 2026 for Ava’s launch and is taking $20 reservations in the United States, with final pricing and broader availability still to be announced.
