Overview
- Razer announced the Wolverine V4 family on Tuesday, releasing the wired Tournament Edition for $99.99 and the feature-rich V4 Pro for $199.99 with immediate availability from Razer and selected retailers.
- Both models use new contactless capacitive thumbstick sensors paired with a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter that register about 3,000 steps of movement to reduce jitter and improve stick resolution.
- On PC the V4 Pro can run at an 8,000 Hz polling rate to cut input lag and smooth tracking for fast shooters, while Xbox remains platform-limited to 250 Hz so those benefits do not carry over on console.
- The V4 Pro emphasizes hardware customization with magnetic swappable back buttons, a removable magnetic faceplate, six thumbcap options, four on-controller profiles, optional haptics, and Razer Pro HyperTriggers that let users set trigger actuation from 1.3 mm to 8.2 mm via Razer Synapse.
- Razer pared back some extras to hit two price points: the Tournament Edition keeps the capacitive sticks and high PC polling but is wired with non-removable paddles and faceplate, and neither model includes the previously supplied controller case.
