Overview
- The Rays announced Monday that their new road gray jersey places “Tampa Bay” across the chest and will serve as the club’s primary road uniform going forward.
- The design updates a 1998–2000 Devil Rays look with a front gradient, a repositioned ray logo, and caps and helmets that swap much of the old black for the team’s modern navy.
- Fans helped choose the jersey through social-media polls in March and the team opened preorders at the Bay Republic Team Store at Tropicana Field on Sept. 21.
- The new uniform will debut Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Game 2 of a doubleheader at Yankee Stadium, a game in which the Rays could clinch the American League East with one win.
- The change ends the Columbia blue road era and signals a broader push to highlight regional identity on the road while giving the club fresh merchandising and branding options.
