Overview
- Cricket Hong Kong announced on September 18 that Ashwin will feature at the Hong Kong Sixes from November 7–9 as a key member of Team India.
- Ashwin retired from international cricket in December 2024 and from the IPL on August 27, 2025, making him eligible to play in overseas short-format events.
- The Hong Kong Sixes is a six-a-side exhibition with five-over innings, one over per fielder except the keeper, batters retiring at 31, and eight-ball overs in the final.
- “This format requires a different strategy and will prove to be high octane … it will be a good challenge for us,” Ashwin said in the tournament’s official release.
- Hong Kong Cricket chair Burji Shroff said his presence elevates the event, while media link him to BBL, The Hundred and ILT20 stints that remain unconfirmed.
