Overview

  • Following a 31-13 preseason win over Dallas on Aug. 16, coach John Harbaugh announced that Loop had secured Baltimore’s kicking role.
  • The rookie connected on five of six field-goal attempts against the Cowboys and is six-of-eight overall in the preseason.
  • Loop was selected 186th overall in April, becoming the franchise’s first drafted kicker in 30 years.
  • Baltimore released Tucker in May during the NFL’s personal conduct investigation and waived undrafted rookie John Hoyland on Aug. 2, leaving Loop as the only kicker on the roster.
  • In training camp, Loop made 51 of 55 field-goal attempts (a 92.7 percent success rate) and produced multiple 60-yard kicks in front of fans at M&T Bank Stadium.
