Overview

  • Nearly every 2024 starter, including Lamar Jackson, DeAndre Hopkins, Jaire Alexander and Chidobe Awuzie, participated in Wednesday’s opening practice in Owings Mills.
  • Sixth-round pick Tyler Loop and undrafted rookie John Hoyland are competing in live sessions to replace long-time kicker Justin Tucker, with Loop converting all six attempts and Hoyland making four of five.
  • Veteran Cooper Rush and second-year pro Devin Leary have taken alternating reps to stake their claims as Jackson’s primary backup quarterback.
  • Jackson emphasized that team focus is on finishing camp correctly and preparing for the Week 1 showdown with the Buffalo Bills rather than contemplating Super Bowl aspirations.
  • Baltimore’s training camp schedule includes a fan practice at M&T Bank Stadium on Aug. 3, joint workouts with the Colts on Aug. 5 and the Commanders on Aug. 21 followed by three preseason games.
