Rashtrapati Bhavan Closes to Visitors Jan. 21–29 for Republic Day Events

Traffic restrictions around Kartavya Path will support rehearsals for the Jan. 26 parade.

  • An official statement from the President’s Secretariat says Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Circuit‑1 will be closed to the public from January 21 to 29 for the Republic Day Parade and the January 29 Beating Retreat.
  • Circuit‑1 refers to the main building tour, which normally operates Tuesday to Sunday in seven hourly slots with up to 60 visitors per slot, now suspended during the closure period.
  • Delhi Traffic Police have issued advisories with temporary curbs in central Delhi for parade rehearsals on January 19, 20 and 21, concentrating along Kartavya Path.
  • On January 26, roads around Kartavya Path will close from 4 a.m., with suggested North–South alternatives via Mother Teresa Crescent Marg or Mathura Road and police deployed to guide commuters.
  • The Ministry of Defence says the parade will include 30 tableaux, a 29‑aircraft flypast and a 2,500‑artist cultural performance under ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, with António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen as chief guests.
