The total lunar eclipse, visible in the Western Hemisphere, will last over an hour and turn the moon a striking red hue.

  • The total lunar eclipse, known as the 'Blood Moon,' will occur overnight from March 13 to March 14, 2025, and will be visible across the Americas, weather permitting.
  • The eclipse will reach totality at approximately 2:30 a.m. Eastern Time and last for 65 minutes, during which the moon will appear reddish due to Earth's shadow.
  • This is the first total lunar eclipse visible in the Americas since November 2022 and the only one this year for the region.
  • The event will not be visible in India, but live streams are available online via platforms like the Virtual Telescope Project and Griffith Observatory.
