Raptors Extend Jakob Poeltl Through 2029-30 With $104M Deal

The opt-in-and-extend design secures Poeltl through 2029-30 without hampering the Raptors’ salary-cap strategy.

Overview

  • The four-year, $104 million extension features a $19.5 million player option for 2026-27 followed by three guaranteed seasons through 2029-30.
  • Last season Poeltl averaged career bests in minutes (29.6), points (14.5) and rebounds (9.6) while shooting 63 percent from the field.
  • He is one of only three players to maintain at least 60 percent field-goal accuracy across each of the past eight seasons and his 64 percent mark with Toronto is the highest in franchise history for players with 500 or more shots.
  • The Raptors also added forward-center Sandro Mamukelashvili on a two-year, $5.5 million contract with a second-year player option to strengthen frontcourt depth.
  • These commitments place Toronto slightly above the luxury tax line as it pursues a play-in berth.
