Rapper Koba LaD Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison for Assaulting Former Manager

The French artist was convicted of violence in a 2022 incident but acquitted of charges of theft and kidnapping.

Koba LaD, whose real name is Marcel Junior Loutarila, was sentenced to 15 months in prison by a court in Melun, exceeding the one-year sentence requested by prosecutors.
The 2022 incident involved a physical altercation with his former manager, who alleged he was assaulted and briefly held with his family after being accused of financial wrongdoing by the rapper.
The court cleared Koba LaD of charges related to theft and kidnapping, as well as acquitting three other individuals implicated in the case.
The rapper, known for his platinum-certified albums, is also facing legal troubles from a fatal car accident in September 2024, where he was reportedly under the influence of drugs.
Koba LaD has a history of prior convictions, including a 2024 sentencing for nightclub violence and a 2020 incident involving a hit-and-run accident in Marseille.
