The Chicago rapper, who pleaded guilty to wire fraud and making false statements, must also pay over $280,000 in restitution and fines.
- G Herbo, a Chicago rapper, has been sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to participating in a scam involving stolen credit card information.
- The scam, which operated from March 2017 through November 2018, involved using stolen credit card info to fund an extravagant lifestyle, including private jet flights, luxury car rentals, and vacation lodgings.
- Prosecutors say the fraud inflicted substantial harm on numerous businesses, with cardholders disputing the charges and credit card companies ultimately placing the losses back on the businesses.
- In addition to probation, G Herbo was ordered to pay restitution and forfeiture of $139,968 for each count, as well as a $5,500 fine.
- Despite the charges, G Herbo has continued to record and release music, with his latest album 'Survivor’s Remorse' released last year.
