Ranthambore Bans Guide and Three Drivers After Tourists Stranded in Tiger Zone

  • The canter carrying about 25 tourists broke down around 6 pm in Zone 6, leaving families, including women and children, vulnerable in territory frequented by tigers.
  • Videos recorded by the tourists showed children using mobile lights and crying in the darkness as the guide failed to return.
  • Tourist Mohit exited the forest to alert officials, who dispatched replacement vehicles that reportedly lacked headlights before completing the rescue around 7:30 pm.
  • Following an internal probe, DFO Pramod Dhakad announced bans on guide Mukesh and drivers Liaquat Ali, Shahzad and Kanhaiya from entering the park.
  • CCF Anoop K. R. emphasized that strict enforcement of vehicle maintenance and conduct rules will be imposed to safeguard visitors.
