Overview

  • Eovaldi recorded a 1.58 ERA with 94 strikeouts over 91 innings in the first half of the season.
  • A triceps strain landed him on the 15-day injured list from May 27 to June 27, leaving him six innings short of the 97-inning leaderboard requirement.
  • He ranks second among MLB starters in both WHIP (0.85) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.71) despite the All-Star omission.
  • On July 16 the Rangers invoked his contract clause and awarded him the $100,000 All-Star bonus he would have earned as a selected player.
  • Texas leads the majors with a 3.28 team ERA but carries a 48–49 record and occupies third place in the American League West.
