The incident occurred during a face-off and Trouba was not penalized during the game.
This is Trouba's second career suspension and he has also been fined twice before.
Trouba will miss the Rangers' games against Ottawa and Colorado, and will be eligible to return on Feb. 7th against Tampa Bay.
The suspension comes at a critical time as the Rangers, who are in first place in the Metropolitan Division, have lost four of their last five games.
