Rangers Fan Charged in TD Garden Stair Push, Arraignment Moved to Friday

Court now set for Friday after cameras helped police identify a Rangers fan accused of shoving a 66-year-old man.

Overview

  • Boston police charged Aaron Tucker, 48, of Vermont, with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and with an enhanced count involving a person over 60.
  • Investigators say TD Garden and city cameras tracked Tucker leaving the arena before officers arrested him on Lafayette Avenue and booked him at Nashua Street Jail.
  • The 66-year-old victim was found semi-conscious with a head abrasion, was hospitalized, and is being evaluated for a concussion, according to court documents.
  • Witnesses told police the victim appeared intoxicated, had been heckling Rangers fans, and put his middle finger in the face of Tucker’s companion before he was pushed.
  • Tucker left with his girlfriend after the incident, later told WBZ he was sorry and that it “wasn’t him,” and is due in Boston Municipal Court on Friday.
