Randstad Forecasts 143,495 Hires for Spain’s Jan–Feb Sales, Murcia Up 1.9%

Retail recruitment is projected to jump as logistics edges lower, reflecting shifting demand across regions.

  • The campaign is expected to generate 143,495 contracts nationwide, a 2.5% rise from 139,950 a year earlier.
  • Transport and logistics remain the largest source of hires with 79,760 roles (55.6% of the total) but are forecast to fall 3.8%, while commerce is set to grow 11.7% to 63,735.
  • Murcia is projected to reach 4,540 contracts, a 1.9% increase that places it among communities with modest growth.
  • La Rioja shows the highest percentage gain at 8.9% (735 hires), as Catalonia, Madrid and Andalusia together account for 50.6% of contracts with 26,170, 23,330 and 23,215 respectively.
  • Employers plan to hire sales assistants, promoters, hosts, customer-service staff, packers, forklift operators, warehouse workers and drivers, with customer skills, flexibility and digital competencies in demand.
