Overview
- CBSE released the first phase of Class 12 verification and re-evaluation results in late June, declaring about 87% of applications and continuing phased publishing of remaining cases.
- Avni Kejriwal of DPS Ranchi saw her aggregate rise by 24 marks after re-evaluation, with English increasing by 19 and Business Studies by 5, taking her to a perfect 500 out of 500.
- Her updated marksheet shows 100 in five core commerce subjects and 99 in Graphics, which made her the national topper in the Commerce stream after the revisions.
- The outcome prompted a large online reaction and renewed scrutiny of marking in subjective papers, with commentators questioning how substantial deductions went unnoticed in initial checks.
- Similar re-evaluations reshuffled other rankings: Aditya Mishra and Bhavya Ranjan of Jharkhand emerged as top scorers in Science and Arts respectively, underscoring that the board’s review process can change merit lists and affect admissions decisions.
