Overview

  • The three-minute teaser titled “Ramayana: The Introduction” premiered July 3 via synchronized fan screenings in nine major Indian cities and a billboard takeover in New York’s Times Square.
  • Shot for IMAX on an estimated ₹835 crore budget, the film employs DNEG’s Oscar-winning VFX and a collaborative score by Hans Zimmer and A R Rahman to realize the epic’s scale.
  • Ranbir Kapoor appears as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman among the ensemble.
  • Principal photography for Part 1 has wrapped, and production on Part 2 is set to begin in August ahead of its Diwali 2027 release.
