Overview
- The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust posted a formal call for CEO applications on Monday with a deadline of July 18 at 4 PM and expects to shortlist candidates within about a month.
- The advertisement sets a three-year initial term, requires residency in Ayodhya, a bachelor’s degree, at least 20 years of managerial experience, age 50–70 and that applicants be practising Hindus with preference for Ram/Vaishnava devotees.
- A three-member search committee — retired Justice Pramod Kohli, retired Lt Gen Vishnukant Chaturvedi and Suresh Haware — will screen emailed applications at searchcommittee.srjbt@gmail.com and recommend names to the Trust.
- Construction Committee chairman Nripendra Misra said the Trust will define the CEO’s powers, that the post will report to the general secretary, and that there will be no government interference in the appointment or operation.
- The recruitment follows revelations of alleged donation misappropriation and ongoing probes by an Uttar Pradesh SIT and notices from the Supreme Court, and the Trust plans further governance changes at a July 22 meeting that could affect trustee posts.
