Ram Lalla Idol to be Installed in Ayodhya Temple

Week-long Pran Pratishtha ceremony culminates with consecration event on January 22

The idol of Ram Lalla, carved in black stone and weighing around 150-200 kg, was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya temple on Wednesday and is likely to be installed on Thursday.
The week-long Pran Pratishtha ceremony, which began on January 16, includes various rituals leading up to the consecration ceremony on January 22.
A silver idol of Ram Lalla, not the one to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum, toured the premises of the temple as part of the ongoing rituals.
A truck carrying fireworks from Tamil Nadu to Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony caught fire in Uttar Pradesh, though no injuries were reported.
Security measures have been heightened in Ayodhya and surrounding areas in anticipation of the Pran Pratishtha event on January 22.
