Ram 1500 Ramcharger Hybrid Targets 1,100-Kilometer Range and 14,000-Pound Towing Capacity
Stellantis unveils its first hybrid light-duty pickup, combining electric and gas power for extended range and towing efficiency, set to arrive in late 2025.
- The Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a series hybrid pickup, offers an estimated 1,100 kilometers of range with 233 kilometers on electric power alone before switching to a gas-powered generator.
- Its towing capacity reaches up to 14,000 pounds, and it features a payload capacity of 2,625 pounds, aided by a strengthened frame and eight-lug wheel hubs.
- The truck uses a 92-kWh lithium-ion battery, of which 69.7 kWh is usable, paired with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that powers a generator to sustain electric drive when the battery is depleted.
- Drivers can choose from three power modes—Electric+, E-Save, and Eco—and multiple drive modes, including Auto, Sport, Tow, and Off-road settings for varied performance needs.
- The Ramcharger is expected to be priced slightly higher than comparable gas-powered trucks but lower than fully electric models, with deliveries anticipated in the second half of 2025.
