Ralph C. Wilson Park Sets Oct. 25–26 Opening With Harvest Fest as Pistons Fund New Courts

A $1 million Pistons gift adds permanent basketball courts.

  • The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy will hold a ceremonial grand opening at 10 a.m. on Oct. 25, followed by festival hours until 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Sunday.
  • The Jacksons are scheduled to perform at 4 p.m. on Oct. 25 on the Summit Main Stage, joining more than 30 artists across multiple stages.
  • More than 30 Metro Detroit food trucks will serve the two-day event, with full lineups posted by organizers.
  • Tom Gores and the Detroit Pistons committed $1 million to build two open-air basketball courts with glass backboards, outdoor-rated fluid-applied flooring, seating areas, and surrounding green space.
  • The 22-acre park on Detroit’s west riverfront near the Ambassador Bridge has been in development for over eight years and will debut with family and accessibility features including trick-or-treating, a free pumpkin patch, and a Sensory-Friendly Tent from Autism in the D.
