Overview
- Union Minister and BJP MP Raksha Khadse accused workers of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena of pressuring and threatening residents in Muktainagar, Jalgaon.
- She said individuals involved in what she called “shady business” were being promoted by the Shinde faction and claimed her daughter had faced harassment.
- Khadse announced an independent BJP panel for the upcoming Muktainagar Parishad elections after her proposal to split seats equally was turned down.
- Once a BJP stronghold, Muktainagar is currently held by the Shinde camp after Shiv Sena’s Chandrakant Patil won the seat in the 2024 Assembly polls.
- The flare-up follows other district-level strains, including in Sindhudurg where Sena leader Nilesh Rane publicly blamed BJP state chief Ravindra Chavan for a local alliance breakdown.
