Overview
- The package comprises 28 roads, 93 bridges and four other works worth about Rs 5,000 crore, marking the BRO’s largest single-day, highest-value inauguration.
- The 920-metre Shyok Tunnel on the DSDBO road bypasses avalanche- and landslide-prone stretches to secure reliable access toward Daulat Beg Oldi.
- An alternate high-altitude axis to Tawang via the Sela–Chabrela–BJ Gompa road reduces reliance on a single approach near the Sela ridge.
- Projects span Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir and seven states including Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Mizoram, enhancing military mobility and civilian access.
