Overview
- UNWMOC-2025 runs August 18–29 at the Manekshaw Centre, led by India’s Centre for United Nations Peacekeeping under the defence and external affairs ministries.
- Participants include officers from 15 nations alongside 12 Indian women officers and five interns preparing for nomination to UN missions.
- Singh said India, a leading UN troop contributor, supports greater integration of women peacekeepers to improve mission effectiveness and community trust.
- The curriculum covers international humanitarian law, protection of civilians, refugees and IDPs, conduct and discipline, conflict-related sexual violence, and child protection.
- Speakers from the Indian Army, the UN and the Ministry of External Affairs are addressing the course, and an infantry battalion nominated for a UN mission will stage a field demonstration; Singh also unveiled the UN Journal 2025 ‘Blue Helmet Odyssey’.
