Overview

  • Rajiv Memani, Chairman and CEO of EY India and chair of its Growth Markets Council, succeeded Sanjiv Puri as President of the Confederation of Indian Industry for 2025-26.
  • R Mukundan, a 33-year Tata Group veteran and Managing Director & CEO of Tata Chemicals, was appointed President-Designate after leading key CII committees on environment and quality standards.
  • Suchitra K Ella, Padma Bhushan awardee and co-founder of Bharat Biotech, was elected Vice President following her tenure as chair of CII’s Andhra Pradesh and Southern region chapters.
  • The new appointments were ratified at the first meeting of the newly constituted CII National Council on June 1, 2025.
  • The leadership lineup is tasked with leveraging corporate strategy, chemical industry expertise and biotech innovation to influence India’s industrial policies in the coming year.
