Rajasthan RBSE to Hold Class 10, 12 Board Exams Twice a Year From 2026–27

The reform aims to ease exam pressure by building in a second chance consistent with NEP‑2020 guidance.

Overview

  • The first examination window will run in February–March and is mandatory, with an optional second window in May–June covering the full syllabus.
  • Students who qualify or seek improvement can reappear in up to three subjects during the second opportunity.
  • Final results will reflect a best‑of‑two policy, and examination fees will remain the same for both attempts.
  • Students absent from the main exam may sit in the second only with a valid medical certificate or district education officer approval, and supplementary candidates can take up to three subjects including supplementary ones.
  • CBSE has announced a comparable twice‑yearly model for Class 10 with one internal assessment per year and flexibility for winter‑bound schools, indicating a broader shift in board‑exam practice.
