Rajasthan High Court Scraps 2021 SI Recruitment Over Paper Leak, Orders Posts Merged Into 2025 Drive

Citing systemic leaks plus alleged RPSC collusion that made segregation unworkable, the bench directed that 2021 vacancies be folded into the 2025 intake with all 2021 applicants allowed to apply again.

Overview

  • Justice Sameer Jain’s single-judge bench cancelled the entire 2021 process after finding leaked papers spread statewide through networks involving dummy candidates, Bluetooth devices and implicated RPSC members.
  • The court ordered the 859 posts from 2021 to be added to the RPSC’s ongoing 2025 SI recruitment, with eligibility extended to all who sat in 2021, including those who have since crossed the age limit.
  • A day earlier, the High Court granted interim relief permitting over-age 2021 candidates to submit forms for the 2025 cycle, which is advertised for around 1,015 posts with applications open until September 8.
  • Probes by the SOG/SIT continue with roughly 125 arrests reported, including former RPSC members Babulal Katara and Ramu Ram Raika, though the state told the court it had identified 68 implicated candidates.
  • A cabinet sub-committee had urged against scrapping the exam on the grounds tainted candidates could be segregated, but the court rejected that view as infeasible, prompting plans for appeals by selected candidates and political reactions across parties.
