- Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma flagged off the 'Rajasthan Vahini Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train' from Jaipur on June 6, setting 800 senior citizens on an eight-day voyage.
- The inaugural trip will take around 800 pilgrims to Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram and the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai over eight days.
- Fourteen coaches are themed with Rajasthan’s forts, art, dance and other cultural symbols to showcase the state’s heritage.
- Passengers will be served traditional Rajasthani dishes and supported by onboard staff including a doctor, nursing officers and government instructors.
- Under the decade-old Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme, the state will send elders to 13 sacred sites by AC rail after conducting earlier pilgrimages to Nepal by plane.
