Overview

• On August 4, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma conducted aerial surveys of water-logged villages in Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dholpur to assess flood damage.
• He instructed local authorities to carry out rapid surveys of damage to public infrastructure, private property, crops and livestock to expedite relief allocations.
• The state government has been directed to secure adequate supplies of food, drinking water, medical aid and restore electricity in affected communities.
• The National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, Civil Defence and the Army have rescued and evacuated over 2,700 people from flood-prone villages.
• Sharma has ordered prompt repairs to schools, hospitals and roads and is planning long-term flood prevention infrastructure for vulnerable Chambal River settlements.
