Overview

• Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on August 20 to advance Rajasthan’s power and urban development agenda.
• He asked for the state’s initiatives to be included under Green Energy Corridor–Phase III with maximum central grant support, citing a planned ₹9,000 crore transmission buildout.
• He sought early approval of the detailed project report for Jaipur Metro Phase‑II under the 50:50 Centre‑State joint venture and requested release of the Centre’s 50% capital share.
• He requested proactive coordination on the Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project Phase‑V, proposed with Asian Development Bank and World Bank funding for water, waste, transport, flood control and heritage works.
• Khattar promised full help from the Centre, while inclusion decisions, DPR clearance and Finance Commission grant releases for non‑million‑plus urban bodies await action.
