Rajasthan CM Inspects Chambal Aqueduct Construction, Orders Timely Completion

Overview

• Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who inspected the site Wednesday in Guhata village, Bundi, reviewed work on the Chambal aqueduct under the Ram Jal Setu Link Project.
• Sharma told officials to keep strict quality standards, track progress closely, and finish the structure within the set deadline.
• Officials said the aqueduct spans about 2.28 km across the Chambal River, linking Pipalda Samel in Kota district to Guhata in Bundi, and it will carry water and allow vehicles on top.
• During the visit he performed a puja at a pier, viewed an on-site progress display, planted a tree to promote conservation, and heard farmers’ concerns about water scarcity and irrigation.
• The project, executed by the Rajasthan Water Grid Corporation, aims in its first phase to supply drinking water to about 3.25 crore people across 17 districts while boosting irrigation and local connectivity.
