Overview

• The three-member subcommittee is led by Law Minister Joga Ram Patel alongside Social Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot and Home Minister of State Jawahar Singh Bedham.
• It will examine the Gurjar Reservation Action Committee’s demand to insert the 5% quota for most backward classes into the Constitution’s Ninth Schedule for judicial immunity.

• Stakeholder parleys with Gurjar leaders and representatives of other communities are scheduled to build consensus on reservation and welfare proposals.
• Formation of the panel follows a June 8 Mahapanchayat that conditionally approved a government draft on quotas, reflecting a shift towards formal dialogue over railway blockades.
