• SSMB29’s international schedule has been narrowed to Tanzania’s Serengeti after South Africa locations failed to match the film’s envisioned jungle aesthetic.
• Filming will begin in the second week of August with a crew of around 200, kicking off a five-week segment focused on a major action sequence in the Serengeti.
• The Tanzania decision follows an earlier cancellation of the Kenya shoot due to political instability and a subsequent South Africa recce that fell short of creative requirements.
• With a reported budget of about Rs 1,000 crore ($116 million), the adventure film stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran and R Madhavan.
• The production, which started in January in Hyderabad and wrapped a schedule in Odisha, now heads to the Serengeti as its next key phase en route to a 2027 global release.
