Rajamouli Locks 3-Hour, 43-Minute Baahubali: The Epic Cut for Oct. 31 Release

Guided by audience screenings, the director cut musical numbers to deliver a tighter, story-driven presentation.

Overview

  • The single-film re-edit merges Baahubali: The Beginning and The Conclusion for a theatrical rollout on October 31.
  • SS Rajamouli confirmed that the song Pacha Bottesina featuring Tamannaah Bhatia was removed from the new version.
  • Additional removals include the songs Kanna Nidurinchara and Irrukupo, with Avanthika–Shivudu portions pared back and several war sequences trimmed.
  • After attempts at linear narration and shorter scene lengths, the team held special screenings, took feedback, and finalized a story-first cut.
  • The combined saga would have run about five hours and 27 minutes, with the first unified cut at four hours and ten minutes before settling at three hours and 43 minutes; an animated Baahubali project is also in development.
