Overview

  • Mario Kart World launched June 5 on Nintendo Switch 2, introducing a seamless open-world mode where players can free-roam between courses
  • Rainbow Road does not appear in the base track list and can only be accessed by unlocking the Special Cup
  • Players must complete the seven initial Grand Prix cups—Mushroom, Flower, Star, Shell, Banana, Leaf and Lightning—to reveal the Special Cup
  • Race placement and engine class do not affect unlock requirements; simply finishing each cup suffices to unlock the Special Cup
  • The Special Cup features four tracks—Acorn Heights, Mario Circuit, Peach Stadium and Rainbow Road—unlocking the series’ most iconic course for all players
