Rainbow Resource Center Director Arrested in Child Sex Sting

Gerad Slayton, the executive director of the Rainbow Resource Center, an LGBTQ+ support center in Modesto, California, was among 17 men arrested on suspicion of eliciting sex with a minor in a sting operation conducted by the Turlock Police Department.
The Rainbow Resource Center stated that Slayton's alleged actions occurred outside working hours and did not involve the center's computers, and that his actions do not represent the organization’s values or mission.
Slayton has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of meeting with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior.
The sting operation was a complex one involving multiple departments and utilized several messaging and dating apps to lure suspects to a location.
Slayton is due back in court on January 29.
